Treasure Box was established over 40 years ago as part of the churches commitment to serving the local community. We are now at the point where we are seeing adults who attended the nursery returning with their children! We always appreciate the trust placed in us and feel in a privileged position to care for your children and support and build relationships with the families who join us.
Our name, Treasure Box, was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, your child is your treasure, and we will endeavour to love and care for them as such. Secondly, we believe that we impart treasure to your child through our standard of care and our commitment to their well-being, which we hope will impact their future lives.
We provide a high-quality curriculum, which builds on what your child already knows and extends their interests and fascinations, encouraging them to be inquisitive, independent, engaged learners. We also follow the changing seasons and celebrations throughout the year. We have our Forest School provision to support this, as well as further adult led activities. We use a variety of stories over the term to support learning, introducing new vocabulary and extending imaginary play, attention and listening skills. We supply open ended, versatile resources, providing an enabling environment, allowing free flow, play indoors and outdoors. Parents are invited in for a termly ‘Stay and Play’ session, so you see first-hand what goes on in the nursery.
We have a qualified, experienced team who support and extend the children’s progress and development, building strong relationships with the children and their families. Above all we have lots of fun and recognise that all of us, even as adults, are more open to learn when we are in a relaxed, stimulating environment that follows our interests!
We are open in term time, offering morning sessions 9.15am-12.15pm and full days 9.15am-3.15pm. We take children into nursery from the term following their second birthday, or later if preferred. We accommodate 15 hour, 2-year Local Authority Funding and Universal 3-year funded Entitlement. We also offer limited 30 hour extended working parent funded places, as well as fee paying places. Space availability, information, application forms and payment rates are available on request.
If children attend for full days, we require parents to provide a packed lunch.
If children use nappies, we ask parents to provide them.
We make no consumable charge for snack time, plant based milk (if required because of dairy intolerance or allergy) suncream, and any extra curricula activities e.g. Forest School sessions, Music & Sensory Groups, Animal Experiences, Parties etc
As part of our parent contract, we ask for a 4 weeks’ notice period of either funding or payment.
If you would like further information or arrange a visit to look around the nursery and discuss a place for your child please contact us.
